Purpose is the secret ingredient to exceptional performance, accelerating success, happier employees and clarity in a VUCA (Volatile, Uncertain, Complex and Ambiguous) world. In the last 10 years, there has been an explosion of interest and research demonstrating the power of purpose. More and more people are realizing that it is a purpose that drives individuals and organizations. Purpose empowers people, products and services. It gives you the ability to be competitive and capable of achieving goals. It is what drives innovation and makes iconic trendsetters in corporate behavior and inspirational models for new entrepreneurs.

Some of the benefits of purpose are:

  • Purpose builds clarity of decision making, it gives direction and enhances the quality of decisions. That is also why purpose is the stage on which other elements of great leadership are built on. When you have clarity of purpose, you see the world through a unique filter, and this gives you the opportunity to be much more creative and innovative.

  • Purpose creates a meaningful brand that, over time, shape your impact on the world.

  • Purpose creates sustainable success

  • Purpose help to grow public trust

  • Purpose magnifies talent attraction and motivates staff, people and volunteers because it creates a collective sense of value

Harvard business school's head of strategy, Cynthia Montgomery, has eloquently argued that a leader's most important role is to be a steward of his/her organization's purpose. Martin Seligman, the father of positive psychology, has described purpose as the pathway to flourishing. Daniel Pink, in his book "Drive", which summarizes 50 years of research on what motivates us in the workplace, identifies purpose as one of three keys to exceptional performance in the 21st Century.

“A clearly defined purpose, along with a road map of how to fulfill it, is now being recognized by many across all sectors of business as a requisite for success.” John O’Brien & Andrew Cave

“If you are building a business without purpose, not only are you missing the point, but you are most likely missing out on the journey, the excitement – and the profit – too.” Richard Branson

"When you are clear on who you are and your overarching purpose, when you have clarity and know which direction you want to go, you can chart a path."  Nick Craig

The purpose of an individual or Organization is the single all-encompassing key to unlocking the potential in individuals and organizations. But more than that, it gives us the energy and motivation to continue pushing to make a positive difference in people’s lives.

The question then becomes, how do you find such purpose and ensure it propels your business forward? At Core Coaching and Consulting will help you to discover, clarify and shape personal and business purpose to gain competitive advantage and boost your bottom line.

This is something that you can learn to do in each of the main realms of your life: work, love, and raising children.” (Authentic happiness, p 13)
